Motorola's mid-ranged Android-powered RAZR i launched in the UK late in October this year is getting a new white color, which is suits the Holiday mood.
A recent press release confirmed that the Motorola RAZR i will be sold by UK retailer Phones4U from Saturday, Dec. 22 onwards.
"Giving you everything you'll need to kick off the New Year, the white RAZR I combines a beautifully designed phone with everything that the Android Universe can offer you in the way of apps, gaming, connectivity and socialising," stated the press release.
The RAZR i sports a 4.3-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED Advanced qHD display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 256 pixels per inch (ppi). Corning Gorilla Glass protects the screen of the handset. A single-core 2.0GHz Intel processor powers the smartphones. The handset measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inch and weighs 4.44 ounces. The back of the phone is made from DuPont Kevlar, which has a soft and rubbery feel and is scratches resistant.
The smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and autofocus. The snapper also has 1080p video capability. The device also includes a VGA front-facing camera. The RAZR i has 8GB of on-board storage and users can extend the memory to a further 32GB using a microSD card. The smartphone has 1GB of RAM.
The RAZR i runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) which is upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean; however, the release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the smartphone is not known. A 2000mAh battery fuels the smartphone which offers up to 20 hours of talk time. The handset has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
"Home of the white smartphone, Phones4U will be the first to range the white RAZR I, which will be available free from £20.50 on pay monthly contracts from 22nd December," noted the press release.
The Motorola RAZR i is a decent smartphone with impressive features in the mid-range segment. The smartphone should appeal to users who are unwilling to spend hundreds on a handset, but are still looking for multimedia features in a device.
