Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update For Galaxy S3 I9300: Here Is How To Install XXELLA Firmware Update

Samsung released I9300XXELLA Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3. With release of the updated, Samsung rolled out many new things and overcame some old issues related to the Exynos 4.

The latest firmware comes with some amazing features like Android 4.1.2 - JZO54K, Multi-View (Multi-Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II), Page Buddy, New Gallery App (Same as in Note II), Notification Panel (Notification Panel can now be customized), Brightness Slider in Notification Panel with an option to disable, Smart Rotation (Screen Display adjusts to your angle of sightings), Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard), Paper Artist App, and Group Cast App.

The new update is believed to be playing a crucial role in fixing the sudden death issue because of the new bootloaders in the new firmware.

Samsung released the Android 4.1.2 I9300XXELLA Jan. 4 over Samsung KIES. The firmware is available for download now.

After updating your Galaxy S3 to XXELLA Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, you can root the new firmware on your phone. Before doing so, keep some points in mind.

1:  The process is meant only for Galaxy S3 I9300. Therefore, the users are advised to check their devices' model number in: Settings > About phone.

2: Make sure the device has at least 80 percent of battery backup.

3:  Download and install USB drivers for your Galaxy S3 and enable the USB debugging mode.

4: Back-up all your important data.

Follow the steps to root your device

Step 1: Download CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip for Galaxy S3 to your computer and extract the zip file.

Step 2: Download ODIN v1.85.

Step 3: Switch off your phone and go to Download Mode on your phone. To do this, press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button till you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. Press Power again to confirm to enter into Download Mode.

Step 4: Run ODIN as Administrator and then connect the phone to your computer while in Download Mode.

Step 5: If the phone is connected properly, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number.

Step 6: Click the PDA tab in Odin and select the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar.

Step 7: In ODIN, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. Do not touch any other options.

Step 8: Click on the Start button in ODIN and it will start the installation process.

Step 9: Once the installation is done, the phone will restart. When you see the home screen, you can unplug the phone from the computer.
