Samsung proved it's still the market leader in the high-end television segment by launching, Monday, its flagship Smart TV - the LED F8000 - as well as the world's first 85-inch Ultra-HD (4K) television at a press conference in Las Vegas.
The LED F8000 is Samsung's flagship Smart TV of 2013 and boasts of a bezel under a quarter of an inch and a wave-inspired design that gives the impression that the TV "floats in the air."
F8000 is powered by a quad-core processor that makes it 3 times faster than Samsung's 2012 models. It also features S Recommendation with voice interaction feature, an advanced technology that makes it "almost human." S-Recommendation allows the TV to interact more intuitively with the user, knows what he likes and suggests relevant and new content, and gives the user the power to manage his entire living room entertainment. In other words, it's the most powerful personalized TV experience ever created.
The F8000 also comes with Samsung Smart Hub, which is not only visually appealing but also easy to navigate. It allows the user to navigate from live TV, video-on-demand, and picture and music, to social network, and apps, all available on different panels that can be accessed and controlled through gestures or a simple remote control. F8000 is available in four diff sizes - 46", 55", 60" and 65". Price and release date is unknown.
The 85-inch UHD TV comes with a "timeless gallery design" that promises to complement any living room for many years to come. The UHD television comes with in-built speakers and sub-woofers built into the frame and pumps out 120W of sound, offering an immersive audio experience. And yes, you can convert HD content to UHD resolution.
The Samsung booth will also be showcasing a 110-inch UHD TV. So, if you're attending CES 2013, don't forget to check it out.
Yes, there's no doubt that Samsung is still king of living room entertainment.
