Samsung has finally let the cat out of the bag. The Korean company has officially announced the two new colors - Amber Brown and Ruby Wine - for its best-selling Galaxy Note 2 phablet.
The Galaxy Note 2 getting a fresh lick of paint has been a favorite topic for the grapevine. Back in November 2012, rumor had it that Samsung was gearing up to release its Galaxy Note 2 in more colors in 2013. The speculated shades were said to be Amber Brown, Topaz Blue, and Ruby Wine.
Additionally, earlier in January, images of the Galaxy Note 2 donning the Ruby Wine and Amber Brown avatars surfaced in a Korean magazine advertisement, propeling speculations that Samsung was on song to announce the new colors soon. A few days later, images of the Amber Brown version being unboxed in Japan emerged.
What's more, if news of three new colors wasn't enough, fake images of a supposed black Galaxy Note 2 also surfaced on the Internet!
Now, Samsung Tomorrow has confirmed that the Amber Brown and Ruby Wine variants of the Galaxy Note 2 will be available in South Korea from next week. The features and specifications of the 5.5-inch smartphone remain unchanged; however, the S Pen too will don the matching colors.
The launch of the new colors takes the number of hues available for the Galaxy Note 2 to four. The smartphone was initially launched in Marble White and Titanium Gray.
We don't know yet by when the two new hues will make their way to other countries, or when the Topaz Blue Galaxy Note 2 will make an appearance, if at all.
It remains to be seen how the two new colors go down with the consumers and if they will be as popular as the classic white and gray.
