Sony is offering one free PlayStation Mobile game every Wednesday, available to download on PlayStation Vita or PlayStation certified devices for the next six weeks. The special deal kicked off with a free copy of Samurai Beatdown.
The promotion started on Jan. 16 and will run over for the next six weeks. A new and free PlayStation Mobile game will go live every Wednesday and remain available for the next seven days for users to download.
You can download the free game on an array of Sony smartphones. Some HTC smartphones are also PlayStation certified, including the the HTC Evo, HTC One X, and HTC One X+, which means that these devices can also download the free game every week.
"To kick off this party we needed to find a title with a lot of punch, and we couldn't think of anything more appropriate than Samurai Beatdown. This fast-paced, side-scrolling slash-em-up pits your samurai rhythm skills against waves and waves of evil demons," notes the PlayStation Blog.
If you are PlayStation Vita user, then start the PlayStation Store on your device, click on the "Mobile" tab at the top of the page, find the game and start downloading. If you own a Sony smartphone, Sony Tablet, or an HTC Android device that is PlayStation certified, you will have to download the PlayStation Mobile Android App, open it and get the Samurai Beatdown free of charge.
Currently, only gamers in Japan, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Australia can avail of the free games offer.
Sony has not revealed which games will be on offer next week, so we will have to wait till next Wednesday to grab the next PlayStation Mobile game.
