In a software update that is expected to improve the user experience and device performance, the much awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has been officially released to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1 and 7.0). Note 10.1 owners get the additional benefit of Samsung Premium Suite in the same download.
Users will not have to wait for their respective carriers to test and approve the software as it is announced that the Android 4.1 is ready for both Wi-Fi models. Rather than adding just the back-end changes, the update comes with a slew of useful features, which are mostly compatible with the Note 10.1 than Tab 2 tablet lineup. Some of the new features available for both the devices are Multi-window, Quick Command, and Air View while the S-pen support is only for Note 10.1.
The S-pen allows users to select writing, swap between on-screen color modes and even launch a unique home-screen when you remove the unit from its dock. The Cascade View, another impressive feature with the update, lets users see applications run in multiple views at the same time. In addition, it allows you to move, resize, pin selected applications. Air View lets users preview content with the S-pen without opening it - see email attachments without opening, preview thumbnails of videos without opening them, and preview photos without opening the album.
The Quick Command feature enables you to launch the often used apps by giving command shortcuts using either custom or preset stylus strokes. You can write directly on their email, send a handwritten note or sign your email with your signature with enhanced handwriting feature in the latest update.
Users could run only two side-by-side apps so far, but with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, it is possible to run as many apps as you can fit on the screen. The update takes away the lag when switching between windows.
The update comes with many more features including Paper Artist, Photo Note, Easy Clip and offers a whole lot of features in the enhanced Galaxy Note such as the option of adding effects to digital content with Idea Sketch, insertion of video directly to Note as well as other templates etc.
Everything about the Premium Suite for GALAXY Note 10.1 is explained in the video below:
