Samsung fans in the U.S. will soon have another Galaxy smartphone to choose from if reports are to be believed. Word's on the street that U.S. carrier T-Mobile is set to get the variant of the Galaxy S3 Mini, dubbed Galaxy Exhibit, soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Exhibit is believed to be the American version of the Galaxy S3 Mini, the smaller sibling of the popular Galaxy S3, which released in Europe in November 2012.
The smartphone, per an Unwired View report, will be exclusive to T-Mobile USA and has the model number SGH-T599. The information is courtesy well-known tipster @evleaks, who is generally accurate.
The Galaxy Exhibit should not be confused with the existing Samsung Exhibit 4G and Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G smartphones. The Galaxy Exhibit also popped up on FCC a few days ago, hinting that the release date is in the anvil.
The Galaxy Exhibit will be the second variant of the Galaxy S3 Mini to hit U.S. shelves. The Galaxy Axiom was the first variant and was exclusive to carrier U.S. Cellular. The Galaxy Axiom slightly improved upon the features of the Galaxy S3 Mini, but both the devices were similar in design and performance overall.
Going by the reports, the Galaxy Exhibit will be pretty similar to the Galaxy S3 Mini, barring the exterior lick of Pebble Gray paint for the former. The Galaxy Exhibit will likely feature a 4-inch WVGA display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel primary camera, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
T-Mobile is expected to release the Galaxy Exhibit before March end. Currently, there is no word on the pricing; however, considering the Galaxy Axiom from U.S. Cellular is just $29.99 on a two-year contract, the T-Mobile Galaxy Exhibit is not likely to cost a pretty penny.
