Samsung Galaxy Premier has finally arrived, roughly a month after its official announcement. However, at the time of this reporting, the device is available only in Russia and Ukraine and the smartphone is expected to reach the European and Asian markets sometime later this month.
When it comes to design, Samsung Galaxy Premier has taken a cue or two from its predecessors such as Galaxy S3, Sam Mobile writes in its product review that said "the device does look much nicer than the Galaxy S3."
The device comes with a 4.65 Super AMOLED display with an HD resolution (720 x 1280). The Galaxy Premier screen has a better pixel density than Galaxy S3 (306ppi) as it comes with 316 pixels per inch. The device has the same size as the Galaxy Nexus.
Galaxy Premier designers have placed the speaker at the upper side of the display along with sensors and a front-facing camera with a resolution of 1.9 mega pixel. The Home Button is placed at the bottom and touch buttons are noticeable only when the camera is turned on.
An 8 megapixel camera with LED flash is placed at the back of the device, lock button/power button on the right side and the volume controller is on the left. A 3.5 mm audio jack is placed at the top of the device with a microphone while a second microphone is placed at the bottom alongside a Micro USB charging point. "Overall the Galaxy Premier has a real classy look and the device is razor-thin. With its beautiful chrome bezel all the way around, you really have premium look and feel," Sam Mobile said.
The Galaxy Premier runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. With the 2100mAh battery, Galaxy Premier can last for at least two days with a full charge without compromising usage. The device offers an uncompromised speed as it uses a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processor. The device offers 8GB / 16GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support and LTE support.
Some of the smart functions in the Touch Wiz Nature UX include Smart Stay, Smart Alert, S Voice, Direct call, S-Beam, Pop up play and Best Photo.
Smart Stay: This feature enables the device to automatically recognize when you are looking at the phone, whether it is to browse the web, play music, or to read an e-book.
Smart Alert: Galaxy Premier will alert you about missed calls and new messages with a brief vibrating nudge when you are back on the device.
S Voice: You can use this advanced natural language recognition software to perform various functions such as unlock the phone, play your favorite songs, control volume, or start camera etc. "When you are messaging someone and decide to call instead, simply lift your phone to your ear and Direct call will dial their number for you," the report said.
S-Beam: You can connect and share documents, contacts, pictures, music, videos etc by holding the back of two Galaxy Premier devices. This feature is available only on NFC enabled version.
