The BlackBerry Z10 is one of the highly anticipated smartphones set to arrive from BlackBerry with the company also set to introduce the BlackBerry Q10 in some time, and now there’s more to follow up on the Z10.
Per reports, T-Mobile is set to start selling the BlackBerry Z10 next week, on March 11, but only to its business customers. The orders are also expected to arrive before the end of the week.
According to the U.S. unit of Deutsche Telekom, business customers could expect to get delivery of the device by the end of next week. Although it declined to provide a solid date for the consumer launch, it was stated that it would be before the end of March.
“BlackBerry, formerly known as Research In Motion, already sells the device in more than 20 countries but its reception in the United States, its former stronghold market, is seen as a key step. However, U.S. consumers have had to wait much longer for the device than other countries like Britain,” a Reuters report states.
“Bigger rivals Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc declined to reveal their Z10 launch dates on Friday and Canada's BlackBerry declined comment.”
T-Mobile is the next biggest U.S.-based carrier in the news linked with the BlackBerry Z10 after the device was linked with other major carriers like Sprint and AT&T. Previously, Sprint had confirmed that the company would not be carrying the BlackBerry Z10, the first phone to run the new BlackBerry 10 operating system.
The information was revealed by Sprint spokesperson Mark Elliott while in an interview with Bloomberg. "We aren't saying there's anything different about our customers," Elliott said. "We think our customers will be happy with the qwerty keyboard and touch screen on the Q10."
As far as AT&T is concerned, there was a rumor doing rounds on the Web stating that BlackBerry's new touchscreen mobile device Z10 would go on sale in the U.S. via AT&T on March 22. The information was revealed by two people familiar with the company’s plan while speaking to Bloomberg.
“Of course, we know what you’re thinking, and you want to know what this means for sales of the Z10 to individuals. Sadly, we still don’t have anything official besides it being sometime before the end of March,” Pocketnow wrote. “Still, business sales are a good place to start, and we wouldn’t be surprised to learn of T-Mobile opening Z10 sales to the public as soon as the week of March 18.”
