When it comes to the Internet, we all want to navigate it without problems or hiccups, and that requires a super-fast connection. While broadband is available in almost every country these days, the speed required to do certain tasks effectively is not present for some.
China does not have this problem: the country has the fastest and most advanced Internet infrastructure in the world, one that is miles ahead of the United States and Europe. Despite all the censorship China places on its Internet, nevertheless it provides the chance to experience such an efficient system.
A report that was amassed back in 2008, sketched two critical areas where China was leading the world in Internet infrastructure. First, China has a security feature known as Source Address Validation Architecture (SAVA). SAVA thoroughly builds up a database of computers and IP addresses so it can authenticate anyone who is sending information across the network.
It also has IPv6, a next-generation Internet Protocol that is capable of increasing the number of IP address to trillions. As of now, the U.S. adoption of IPv6 is very slow, which means the country is still heavily reliant on the inferior IPv4. Probably the main reason China revved up its Internet architecture is the large amount of people living in the country who are constantly logging on.
It's quite easy to say China's Internet is a censored mess, one that you might not wish to be a part of. However, despite the problems censorship is causing China's network, it is undeniably the most advanced on the planet and all the cool Cloud features we use today can only be fully realized on such a network.
The world needs to catch up to China — at least in its Internet technology.
