Just hours before Samsung's press conference at Radio City Hall in New York City, four videos of the Galaxy S4 have been leaked, showing off various features. The videos demonstrate such features like the new lock screen, SmartPause eye tracking and floating touch control.
The Galaxy S4 is expected to come with the ability to pause a video just by removing your eyes from the screen, along with tracking eye movements for various other tasks. The popular Air View technology found in the Galaxy Note 2 should make a comeback here. Air View allows for opening folders, thumbnails and pictures just by hovering a finger over an icon onscreen.
The floating touch demo in the video below is particularly interesting. Users simply have to wave their hands or fingers over the screen for navigational purposes.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 can no longer be viewed as just another big-screen smartphone; the Korean giant has proven it has the will to innovate instead of simply making things bigger to entice users who love huge and powerful things.
Recent rumors have suggested the Galaxy S4 will come packed with a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED Full HD capacitive touch screen, a super-fast quad core processor for the U.S. market, an 8-core Exynos processor for the international market, and 2GB of RAM. The back of phone houses a 13-megapixel sharpshooter, and there's also NFC, LTE connectivity, a microSD card slot along with wireless charging capabilities.
No doubt, this is one well-tricked-out smartphone. The HTC One is in big trouble as it plays second fiddle to the might of Samsung, and Google has all the more reason to have that bitter sweet feeling.
The Galaxy S4 will be announced at Samsung's Unpacked Event at 7 PM EDT. Mobile & Apps will have the updates as soon as they happen.
