Users of HTC One S on the T-Mobile network were jealous of their counterparts in the UK and Canada because of the Jelly Bean update for their devices. T-Mobile subscribers owning the One S were waiting for the Jelly Bean update for a long time and the wait has finally ended now.
T-Mobile has started pushing out the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean updated to HTC One S devices from Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Many users got a system update message on their devices:
"This update includes the following: System update 3.14.531.11 (675.49 MB). This is an Operating System update for HTC One S. This software will upgrade your device to Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). Due to the size of the update it can only be updated using a Wi-Fi connection. Jelly Bean brings an updated user interface to the Android experience in addition to several enhancements. It won't delete any of your content however, you will be unable to user your device or make emergency calls for the duration of the install. The update is expected to take 10-20 minutes but could take longer. The update can only be downloaded over a Wi-Fi or Internet pass-through connection," TmoNews posted the message.
T-Mobile had pushed out a maintenance update for One S devices back in February, delaying the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Update for the users.
However, users of HTC One S on T-Mobile were given a sweet surprise as the firmware update was pushed out without any earlier rumors or intimations from the carrier. Users who have already installed the update seem very happy as they post very positive comments on the support page of T-Mobile, such as:
"I installed the update at 6:30 am this morning. Haven't notice any problems so far. Battery life/usage seems a little quicker but I am attributing that to playing with my phone significantly more after the update. I do question if Google Now will use more battery life since it is pushing information out on its own," a user posted on the support page.
