The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will reportedly hit Canada in early October. The handset will launch on TELUS first, with other carriers to follow.
Samsung announced its Galaxy S4 Mini back in May, continuing the "Mini" trend it started last year with the Galaxy S3 Mini.
Canadian customers have been patiently waiting for more information regarding the Galaxy S4 Mini availability in the country, and now they are finally in for some good news.
"While we don't have a price for the GS4 mini, we do know that Canadian carriers will start selling the Android early October," reports Mobile Syrup. "We do know that TELUS is on board and you can be sure the Galaxy S4 mini will arrive on most carriers lineup."
The Galaxy S4 Mini is a smaller version of Samsung's current flagship, offering lower-end specifications and a more affordable price tag. The handset sports a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 540 x 960 resolution, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter.
Other specs of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini include 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and LTE. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but is expected to get an upgrade to Android 4.3.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini may not be as powerful and high-end as the flagship smartphone, but it does pack many of the features that made the original Galaxy S4 so popular. Last year's Galaxy S3 Mini proved to be a real hit with consumers who wanted a Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to outshine its predecessor.
No pricing details are currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini in Canada, but the handset is expected to sport an affordable price tag. Samsung has yet to officially announce the availability of the handset in Canada, but if this report proves to be accurate and an early October launch is set, the company should provide more details shortly.
