The much-rumored Nokia Lumia 929 may hit Verizon Wireless as soon as Nov. 6, sporting a 5-inch display and a high-end 20-megapixel PureView camera.
The Finnish company has its Nokia World event set for the end of the month, on Oct. 22, in Abu Dhabi. Nokia is expected to launch several new Lumia devices at the conference, with the main attraction reportedly consisting of large full HD displays, along with high-end specs.
According to a new report from WPCentral, Nokia plans to unveil the Lumia 929 Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphone at Nokia World. The handset may launch as an exclusive to Verizon in the U.S.
There's not much information currently available regarding the specs of the Lumia 929, but the smartphone is expected to sport a 5-inch display, not the 6-inch screen the Lumia 1520 phablet will reportedly feature. The Lumia 929 should also come with the GDR3 update to Windows phone, which adds support for quad-core processors, large full HD displays and other goodies. The device will come in two color choices - black and white.
The Nokia Lumia 1520, meanwhile, will launch as the company's first phablet and is expected to come as the largest and most powerful WP8 handset yet. In addition to the aforementioned 6-inch display, the phablet will reportedly boast full HD 1080p resolution and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. This device is rumored to be an AT&T exclusive.
Nokia is also expected to unveil the Lumia 2520 (previously referred to as Nokia Sirius) at the event, which would launch as the company's first tablet and would run Windows RT. The tablet is also expected to sport a full HD 1080p display measuring 10.1 inches and may launch on both AT&T and Verizon.
While the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 have leaked extensively, the Lumia 929 is still shrouded in mystery. The WPCentral report, however, lists a Nov. 6 inventory date for the Verizon Lumia 929. It remains unclear at this point whether the date is the actual launch date or it's just when Verizon's retail stores will start getting stock of the smartphone.
As with all rumors, leaks and speculations, it is advised to take this report with a grain of salt.
