The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is riding the high tide, as the company has reportedly shipped 5 million units in the phablet's first month sice launch.
Samsung's very own JK Shin made the announcement and the figure is quite impressive even for Samsung. It was no big secret that the Galaxy Note 3 was very popular, but now we know more details.
According to Sammy Hub, which cites a Korean media report, JK Shin said that Samsung has shipped 5 million Galaxy Note 3 units to retailers and various mobile carriers. It's worth pointing out, however, that the figure is for worldwide shipments. The company has not disclosed how many of these units were actually sold to consumers.
Nonetheless, 5 million units shipped in just one month is definitely an impressive achievement and a big win for Samsung. It took the company two months to ship this many Galaxy Note 2 phablets and 5 months to ship the same amount of the original Galaxy Note 2. If anything, the latest figures prove that Samsung's flagship phablet is growing more and more popular with each iteration.
Before the Galaxy Note 3 was official, many felt that it had big shoes to fill since the Galaxy Note 2 was so successful. As it turns out, the new-generation Galaxy Note phablet is an even bigger hit.
The super-sized smartphone comes with a slew of high-end specs, including a 5.7-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, the latest quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, as well as Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The device also comes with 3GB of RAM under the hood and is available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage configurations, with a micro SD card slot for additional memory. Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with various advanced features, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for self shots and video chats. Samsung has also enhanced the S Pen features and added a neat Air Command tool.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 made its global debut back on Sept. 25 and if these 5 million units shipped so far are any indication, it is one hot device.
