Facebook has released a new update for its iOS app, finally allowing users to edit their posts from an iPad.
The update 6.7 of Facebook for iOS finally brings some long-awaited functionality to iPad users. Facebook is one of the most popular social networks out there and increasingly more users tend to access the network from mobile devices. From pictures of food, images of a breathtaking view or just random posts about something they've just witnessed, Facebook users seem to love posting things on the go. Mobile apps make it easy to do so, but some functionality is limited in some cases.
Those who use Facebook for iPad more than they use it on desktop or smartphone have likely been frustrated by some limitations, as the platform would not let them do various things. While desktop and other mobile users have been able to edit their posts and comments for quite some time, iPad users were left without this option. If you messed something up while posting or commenting on Facebook from an iPad, you either had to add a follow-up post to clarify/ correct, or delete the first post/comment altogether and give it another shot.
With the latest update from Nov. 9, users will now be able to edit, as well as preview posts straight from their iPad, something that was not previously available. It may not be the most important news for some, but Facebook addicts will most likely welcome the new functionality.
In addition to allowing users to edit their Facebook posts and comments straight from the iPad, the new update also brings along a number of bug fixes, as well as additional language support for icons.
The latest update seems to bring Facebook one step closer to unifying its experience on all platforms, but there's still a long road ahead. The Facebook experience is not the same for everyone, as some gradual changes may have rolled out to some users while skipping others. Not even the desktop Facebook experience is the same for everyone, but millions of users seem to love the social network nonetheless.
To get the Facebook for iOS app, head over to iTunes and download it for free.
