Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Amazon has slashed the price of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) tablet.
Google's new 7-inch tablet sports notable improvements over last year's Nexus 7, but it also launched at a higher price point than the original tablet. Amazon's new price cuts now shave $30 off the price of the new Nexus 7, making it more attractive and affordable.
The retailer is now offering both the 16GB and the 32GB versions of the new Nexus 7 (2013) for $30 less. This means that the 16GB model now drops from the previous $229.99 price tag to a more affordable $199.99, while the 32GB version drops from $269.99 to $239.99.
It's worth noting that this offer applies to the Wi-Fi-only models of the Nexus 7 (2013), as the LTE version is not included in this promotion. Amazon is also running a similar promotion in the UK, offering the 16GB Nexus 7 (2013) for £179 instead of £199 and the 32GB model for £207.99 instead of £239.
The Google Nexus 7 tablet is a direct competitor to Amazon's own Kindle tablets, and the retailer has also started a 30-day trial promotion of its Kindle Fire HDX. Under this new promotion, users will be able to test a tablet for 30 days.
While Amazon is slashing the prices of the new Google Nexus 7 (2013) in the U.S. and the UK, other Amazon stores don't seem to have such offers in place, at least not for now. With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, however, expect to see more attractive discounts for various devices, as companies always cut prices to lure more customers.
If you want to take advantage of Amazon's current offer, you can find the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 (2013) at this link for $199.99, or get the higher-capacity 32GB variant for $269.99 at this link. Amazon is also throwing in free two-day shipping with your order.
The retailer still has both versions of the Nexus 7 (2013) in stock for now, but Nexus devices usually sell out at a rapid pace, so interested buyers may want to get their desired model while it's still available.
