Samsung has recently launched its new Smartphone GamePad and now it is apparently planning to offer the accessory in a bundle with the Galaxy Tab 3.
While Apple allows for third-party gamepads with its iOS 7, Samsung had decided to take matters in its own hands and offer it own accessory for mobile gaming. The new Samsung GamePad works with Android smartphones and tablets running Android 4.1 and newer, but it is optimized to work best with Galaxy devices running Android 4.3.
Samsung is reportedly ready to offer a new bundle in Europe, selling the GamePad with one of its most popular tablets in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition.
It is worth noting that Samsung has yet to officially announce this special bundle. The news comes from German site All About Samsung, which even posted a photo of the bundle.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition reportedly includes the new GamePad, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-Fi tablet, as well as an HDMI adapter to allow for easier connection. The GamePad normally connects to a device via Bluetooth and NFC.
With no official announcement for Samsung, it remains unclear at this point which other regions will get this special bundle in the future. All About Samsung does not offer any pricing details for the bundle, nor does it note whether it will launch in other markets. Samsung has officially launched the GamePad on Tuesday, Dec. 17, but failed to disclose the gadget's price.
According to Samsung's recent press release announcing the GamePad's launch, the device is already available in "select" countries in Europe, with other markets to follow "in the coming weeks."
The GamePad features an eight-way D-Pad, two analog sticks, four action buttons, and two triggers. As previously mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition, which reportedly bundles the new Gamepad, is not official yet, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more about the bundle's price and availability.
If Samsung plans to expand the availability of this bundle, more information should surface shortly, likely in time for the holidays.
