The 32GB model of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) is now on sale from Office Depot, sporting a $229.99 price tag until Dec. 28.
The second-generation Nexus 7 is one of the best devices of 2013 and has been in very high demand since launch. The 32GB version of the tablet normally costs $269.99, but Office Depot is now offering the Nexus 7 for $40 off.
The Nexus 7 (2013) not only packs high-end specs and features, but it also provides the much-touted Nexus experience, which guarantees timely updates each time a new Android version becomes available. Moreover, the Nexus 7 was also the first tablet to receive Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system.
In terms of specifications, the new Nexus 7 comes with some notable improvements over its predecessor. The tablet spots a 7-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a high pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi) and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass protection. The Nexus 7 packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz under the hood, coupled with Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Other specs include a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, as well as a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The tablet also boasts stereo speakers with surround sound and Frauhofer audio technology, which has sparked positive reviews.
When it comes to connectivity options, the new Nexus 7 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS. Ports include microUSB, as well as a Slimport for 1080p HDMI output.
Nexus devices in general have proved to be very popular among consumers, but Google's latest Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 seem in higher demand than any others. The Nexus experience, high-end specs and features, and an affordable price tag have made the Nexus 7 one of the best, if not the best small tablet currently available on the market.
The 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) is available from the Google Play store for $269.99, but if you hurry up you can get the exact same tablet from Office Depot for a lower $229.99 price tag. Remember, however, that this offer is set to expire on Saturday, Dec. 28. It's not a very heavy discount, but it's still a better deal than the tablet's original pricing.
