Amazon currently has a great deal on the Sprint Nexus 5, selling Google's latest flagship smartphone for just $34.99 on a new two-year contract.
The LG-made Google Nexus 5 is one of the most popular smartphones to launch in 2013. The handset boasts high-end specs and features and comes with the much-touted Nexus experience, which guarantees timely updates as soon as Google releases a new version of Android.
Nexus 5 Specs
For those unfamiliar with the handset, the Google Nexus 5 sports a 4.95-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a high pixel density of 445 pixels per inch (ppi) and Gorilla Glass protection to make it scratch-resistant. Under the hood, the device packs a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM. The Nexus 5 comes with 16GB of internal storage capacity. On the downside, however, it has no microSD card slot for additional memory. In terms of software, the smartphone already runs the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.
Other specs of the Google Nexus 5 include an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), enhanced HDR+ mode, and other neat features, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. Both cameras can record full HD video. When it comes to connectivity, the Nexus 5 comes with 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth LE, and GPS. A large, non-removable 2,300 mAh battery will provide up to 13 hours of talk time. The smartphone also boasts wireless charging capabilities out of the box, which would require purchasing a wireless charging pad.
Sprint Nexus 5 Amazon Deal
Sprint is currently selling the Nexus 5 for $149.99 online and in its retail stores, but Amazon now has a better deal in place. The retailer is offering the black version of the Sprint Nexus 5 for just $34.99 when signing a new two-year contract with the carrier. The smartphone appears as "in stock" on Amazon's website at the time of writing, but the offer may not be available for long. The retailer is also throwing in free two-day shipping with the order.
