The Sprint Google Nexus 5 is now available for just $29.99 from Amazon when signing a new two-year contract with the carrier.
Google's current flagship smartphone, the LG-made Nexus 5, is one of the most popular Android devices currently available on the market. The handset comes with high-end specs and features and the much-touted Nexus experience, which guarantees prompt updates as soon as a new version of Android is available.
Google Nexus 5 specs
As a reminder, the Google Nexus 5 sports a 4.95-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a high pixel density of 445 pixels per inch, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. A powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor powers the device, along with Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
The Nexus 5 further features an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 1.3-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and GPS. A 2,300 mAh non-removable battery keeps things up and running. The smartphone also supports wireless charging out of the box, provided that you have a compatible wireless charging pad. On the software side, the Nexus 5 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, as it served as the launch vehicle for the new OS.
The Sprint Nexus 5 comes with 16GB of internal storage capacity, but Amazon is also throwing in 50GB of free Amazon Cloud Drive storage space for one year. Moreover, Sprint will also release an update soon to enable LTE Advanced radio for the Nexus 5, which will allow the smartphone to blaze through the ultra-fast 4G LTE Advanced Sprint Spark network.
Sprint Nexus 5 Amazon deal
Sprint is currently selling the Nexus 5 for $99.99 on-contract, but Amazon now has a more attractive deal in place. The retailer is offering the exact same smartphone for just $29.99 when signing a new two-year contract with Sprint, allowing for significant savings.
Amazon doesn't mention when this offer will expire, but interested buyers might want to take advantage of it while it lasts. The Sprint Nexus 5 appears as in stock for $29.99 at the time of writing, but the deal may not be available for long.
