Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has something to reveal at the CES 2017. For starters, the FCA made an official announcement that it teamed up with Google to incorporate Android to the vehicles' dashboards.

The Consumers Electronics Show 2017 will begin on Jan. 5 and it is expected to be filled with announcements from tech and car companies. Launching dates, new technologies on vehicles, tech items and more are just some of the things to watch our for at the upcoming trade show.

Now, prior to the event's official opening day, Fiat Chrysler and Google have stepped out to inform the public about their collaboration to create the smart infotainment system that is fully based on Android. Likewise, the partnership will focus on advancing the new generation of linked vehicular set-up using the Android platform.

On Jan. 2, via press release, Chris Barman, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' head of electrical engineering said, "This collaboration with Google has been an extremely beneficial opportunity for both companies."

He added that this is because both sides are able "to explore how in-vehicle infotainment and connectivity technology continues to evolve, and what it takes to meet consumers' increasing desire for innovation of information with minimal distraction."

Barman further stated that added that with the help of Android, they were able to keep the company's intuitive and exclusive Uconnect user interface. the Google's mobile operating also allowed the smooth blending of FCA's easily operated systems and Android's apps and features.

In any case, with their partnership, Google and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles are going to present the harmonious fusion of Uconnect 8.4-inch system with Android and its apps such as Google's Assistant and Maps. Third party applications like Spotify, Pandora and Pocket Casts are compatible with FCA's Uconnect as well.

Patrick Brady, Android's director of engineering, also stated that their association with FCA will expand the industry standard for connected car systems with Android, to produce impressive infotainment systems that will go well with the digital age.

Finally, according to USA Today, it has been eight months since Google and FCA struck a deal and started their project on new car technologies. People can expect to see hands-on demonstrations, exclusive at the upcoming CES 2017 event that will take place from Jan. 5 -8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
