Moto Z2 Force Rumors: The Smartphone Won't Be A Verizon Exclusive According To Prolific Industry Tipster

Apr 17, 2017 08:16 AM EDT

It seems that the Moto Z2 Force will be available for other US network carriers. Reportedly the smartphone won't be a Verizon exclusive after all.

According to prolific industry tipster Evan Blass, there is a possibility that other leading carriers might sell the device. Blass made the assertion on Twitter today, and he believes that T-Mobile can package the phone on its network plans.

Aside from the two companies, AT&T, Sprint and, US Cellular might also be allowed to sell the phone despite being omitted from the tweet. Although the veracity of this information seems to be dubious, some of Blass' previous leaks have come to fruition.

Sources that are close to the matter have indeed confirmed that the Moto Z2 Force won't be a Verizon exclusive. Previously, some reports claimed that Sprint owns the exclusive rights to sell the phone.

However, the same sources reiterated (including Evan Blass) that the new Moto Z device would be spread out to different US network carriers. Blass also shared the possible logo of the Moto Z2 Force as shown below.

Motorola will allegedly announce the new flagship phone in the coming months. The Lenovo-owned company is reportedly looking to release two high-end smartphone units this year, the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force.

Both devices are expected to hit the markets in the third quarter of 2017. Actual details about the phone's specifications are still limited, but both phones will likely equip Qualcomm's latest flagship SoC.

According to Android Headlines, the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force will have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chip. The devices are also said to sport at least 4GB of RAM and feature a 3.5mm audio port.

Lenovo hasn't released an official statement regarding the news. Moreover, expect more details to surface in the next months. Stay tuned for more updates.
