LG Windows 8 2014 PC lineup: Tab-Book 2 sliders, Ultra PC laptop, and 27-inch AIO PC
LG Electronics is preparing to unveil its latest Ultra PC and second-generation Tab-Book 2 hybrid devices at the International CES 2014, running from Jan. 7 - 10.
The new Ultra PC has model number 13Z940, while the second-generation Tab-Book 2 will come in model numbers 11T740 and 11T540. LG's newest PC products feature slimmer designs and are lighter than their predecessors, while also boasting "refined, minimalistic form factors." All of the company's latest PC products, including the All-In-One (AIO) PC model 27V740, will run Windows 8.1 and rock LG's high-end IPS display technology.
"Lightweight, beautiful and fast, the latest PC products from LG offer unmatched versatility," Hyoung-sei Park, head of the IT Business Division at LG Electronics' Home Entertainment Company, touted in the press release. "Our 2014 lineup is specifically designed to let customers take advantage of cutting-edge technology in a myriad of innovative ways. Essentially, the new generation of PC products from LG enables users to find the perfect computer for their needs, whether it's for home, work, school or entertainment."
LG Tab-Book 2
The Tab-Book 2 hybrid hides a neat QWERTY keyboard underneath its 11.6-inch display and builds on the success of LG's original Tab-Book, which first made its debut at CES 2013. Both new Tab-Book models are optimized for 10-point touch control and all users have to do to enjoy the QWERTY keyboard is press one single button.
The Tab-Book 2 11T740 is the flagship model, coming as a light and thin hybrid device with an 11.6-inch Full HD IPS display. It measures only 16.7 mm in thickness and weighs in at 1.05 kg. Under the hood, the slate packs a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor. The 11T540 model, meanwhile, is even thinner and lighter than the 11T740, tipping the scales at just 930g and measuring 13.7 mm in thickness.
LG Ultra PC
The new LG Ultra PC model 13Z940 comes with a clean and minimalist design, while also offering superior processing power, great graphics performance and extended battery life due to its Haswell Intel Core i5 processor, according to the press release. LG further boasts that its new Ultra PC boots instantly with its solid-state drive (128GB or 256GB), allowing for quick access.
The LG 13Z940 Ultra PC sports a 13.3-inch full HD IPS display with an ultra-thin bezel of just 4.4mm. LG markets this device as "travel-friendly," as it measures 13.6 mm at its thickest point and weighs 980g. The device further features Reader Mode, which allows users to tweak the background of any on-screen image in order to make it look more like paper, thus reducing both energy consumption and eye-strain.
LG AIO PC
Lastly, LG's AIO PC boasts a large 27-inch full HD IPS display, runs Windows 8.1, packs an Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M graphics.
"Perfect at home as a TV, monitor or personal computer, the LG AIO PC can easily switch from computer to TV mode using the included remote without having to reboot the PC," touts LG. "What's more, its picture-in-picture (PIP) feature makes it possible to watch TV and browse the internet simultaneously. The AIO PC is equipped with an HDMI jack to connect to a Blu-ray player, sound bar or other HD home entertainment components."
LG will unveil its latest PC offerings in January, at the International CES 2014. The company has yet to offer any details regarding the products' pricing and availability, but more information will be available as soon as CES kicks off.
