AT&T confirms ASUS PadFone X specs ahead of the big launch (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuThe ASUS PadFone X phone/tablet hybrid will make its way to AT&T soon, and the carrier has now released some details on the device's hardware specifications.
Just a few days ago the AT&T PadFone X was spotted at the FCC, suggesting an imminent launch, and the carrier's announcement now further boosts anticipation and excitement ahead of the big release.
"Those waiting to get their hands on one of the most innovative devices of the decade, the ASUS PadFone X, are one step closer," touts AT&T. "It's definitely built for speed and longevity."
The hybrid comes with some neat specifications, but AT&T didn't really reveal anything new. The only mystery at this point regarding this device is when exactly it will become available, and for how much, but AT&T has yet to disclose such details.
For those unfamiliar with the device, the ASUS PadFone X joins the company's lineup of smartphne/tablet hybrids. It sports a similar design to recent PadFone hybrids, but it sports several differences to make it stand out from the crowd.
On the smartphone side, the PadFone X boasts a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB, and a 2,300 mAh battery.
On the tablet front, the hybrid comes with a 9-inch dock, offering a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet dock, called the PadFone Station, further comes with a large 4,990 mAh battery and it also rocks dual front-facing speakers for a superior audio experience.
The PadFone also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter, while the PadFone Station sports a 1-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and A-GPS.
