LG G2 Mini on sale in Europe for a whopping €349
Alexandra BurlacuThe LG G2 Mini has been confirmed to launch in April and now it appears that several European retailers have already listed the device with a €350 price tag.
With its new LG G2 Mini, the company follows the growing trend of launching a flagship smartphone and then offer a smaller version with watered-down specs and a more affordable price tag.
In the case of the LG G2 Mini, that more affordable price tag doesn't seem to be very budget-friendly, at least not for this category. The handset does run the latest Android 4.4 KitKat and some neat LG features, but it has mid-range specifications that suggested a lower price point.
Select online retailers in Germany and Spain have already listed the LG G2 Mini for sale on their websites, slapping a not-so-affordable €350 price tag. The handset is slated to start shipping to interested buyers on Monday, March 31.
The LG G2 Mini comes in different versions, packing either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor or an NVIDIA Tegra 4i chipset. The version that is now up for sale in Europe is the one packing the Qualcomm processor under the hood. This model is also compatible with 4G LTE networks.
Where other specifications are concerned, the LG G2 Mini comes with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display with qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, Adreno 305 graphics, and 1GB of RAM. The handset also features just 8GB of internal storage capacity, but has a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB. A 2,440 mAh battery should provide decent performance. The smartphone will also be available in a dual-SIM version.
One of the most attractive features of the LG G2 Mini is that it runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, which is quite a neat offering for a mid-range handset, especially considering that many smartphones out there are higher-end but are still stuck on older Android versions.
For those interested in the LG G2 Mini, the handset is now on sale in Europe for €349 from Amazon Germany, Amazon Spain, and MediaMarkt, among others. It remains to be seen, however, just how successful this handset will be with such a high €349 price tag, especially since the budget Moto G is available for far less.
