HTC One (E8) Vogue Edition officially listed, packs high-end specs in rounded, plastic body
Alexandra BurlacuHTC has just announced a new member of its One family, set to make its debut soon as the HTC One Vogue Edition.
Dubbed the HTC One (E8), the HTC One Vogue Edition ports a similar design to the original HTC One (M7) launched last year, albeit with a curvier plastic (polycarbonate) body instead of the more premium metal casing.
HTC now lists this new smartphone on its Chinese site, noting a June 3 launch date. In terms of hardware, the HTC One Vogue Edition's specs fall in line with previous leaks, with specs comparable to those of the recently-launched HTC One (M8). More specifically, the HTC One (E8) has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter.
On the other hand, this new HTC One (E8) does not feature the dual rear camera setup found on the current flagship HTC One (M8), which pairs a 4-UltraPixel camera with a depth-sensing camera for a superior photography experience.
The listing makes no mention of the smartphone's display size or resolution, but previous rumors claimed that the HTC One Vogue Edition would launch with a 5-inch full HD display. The operating system is not mentioned either, but the smartphone is expected to run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
No other spec details are available at this point, which means that it remains unclear for now just what internal storage capacity, battery capacity, connectivity, or expandable storage options the smartphone will have.
Earlier this month, HTC posted an intriguing teaser on Twitter, quoting Edward George Bulwer-Lytton as saying "In life, as in art, the beautiful moves in curves." Along with this caption, HTC teased "More beautiful curves coming soon."
The latest listing on the company's Chinese website, showing this new HTC One (E8) Vogue Edition, suggests that those "beautiful curves" may be ready for prime time soon. No details are currently available on whether HTC will launch this smartphone version in other regions as well, but we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more.
