Samsung Galaxy F shows metal beauty in gold color option
Alexandra BurlacuThe much-rumored Samsung Galaxy F, previously referred to as the Galaxy S5 Prime, has leaked in a new press render, this time showing the device in a gold color option.
This purported smartphone is rumored to launch as a more premium version of the current Galaxy S5 flagship. The Galaxy F will not only ditch the plastic casing and finally sport a metal design, but it will also feature slightly better specs.
Just recently, the purported Galaxy F has leaked alongside the Galaxy S5 in an image, showing incredibly thin bezels around its display, considerably thinner than those found the current flagship.
The latest leak now comes in the form of a press render showing the purported Samsung Galaxy F in a gold color option, giving us a good look at both the front and the back of the device.
The new leak comes from well-known and trusted tipster @evleaks, who has proved to be spot-on countless times so far when spilling the beans about unannounced devices or tech plans. This is no guarantee that the device seen in this image is the real deal, but the source's good track record does add more credibility.
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy F is expected to sport a metallic build and a slightly larger 5.1-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The premium smartphone is further expected to boast a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, likely paired with a hefty 3GB of RAM.
Other rumored specs for the Galaxy F include 32GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. The handset is expected to launch with the latest version of Android on board.
In other words, the purported Galaxy F would sport largely similar specs to the current flagship Galaxy S5, with the display and the metal shell as the main differences.
Recent rumors have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy F might debut at the company's Galaxy Premiere 2014 event on June 12, but that obviously did not happen. Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy Tab S lineup at the event, but made no mention of another Galaxy S5 version. Consequently, it all remains in the rumor state at this point, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as more information surfaces.
