Moto X (2014) Cyber Monday deal: $0.01 on-contract with Verizon, $359 unlocked, 30% off accessories
Alexandra BurlacuMotorola is gearing up for Cyber Monday, when it will offer its new Moto X (2014) for $0.01 on-contract with Verizon, or $359 unlocked.
Amid a slew of attractive Black Friday deals from various companies, retailers, and carriers, Motorola is looking at Cyber Monday for its special deals. In addition to the notable discount on the new Moto X, the company will also be slashing 30 percent off all accessories, except for the Google Chromecast.
When Motorola launched its original Moto X last year, it stirred lots of interest with the smartphone's unprecedented customization options, but otherwise the handset came with mid-range specs. The second-generation Moto X, meanwhile, takes things to the next level with far superior specs and features on board, but it also comes with a higher price tag.
For Cyber Monday, however, the new Moto X (2014) will be at its most affordable price point, selling for just one penny when agreeing to sign a service agreement with Verizon Wireless. Alternately, interested customers who don't want to commit to Verizon will be able to purchase the unlocked Moto X (2014) for $140 off, at just $359.
This offer will be available on Cyber Monday only, i.e. this coming Monday, Dec. 1. Interested buyers will have to register on Motorola's website here starting with 11 AM CST (2 AM CST in the EU). Registrations will be open until 5 PM CST, or while supplies last. After registration, customers will receive a unique promotional code that must be used until Monday, Dec. 15, at 11:49 CST at the latest.
Motorola had several promotions for its first-generation Moto X in the past, and each time available supply sold out in no time. With the new Moto X sporting superior specs compared to its predecessor, this promotion will likely stir even more interest and see the smartphone sell out even faster.
To recap, on Cyber Monday the new Moto X (second generation, 2014) will cost $359 ($140 off) unlocked or $0.01 on-contract with Verizon. The deal will be valid between 11 AM and 5 PM, or while supplies last, on Dec. 1. After that, the smartphone will return to its regular $499 price tag unlocked. Moto X accessories will be 30 percent off during the same timeframe on Cyber Monday. To learn more about this upcoming promotion, check out Motorola's announcement at this link.
