Alexandra BurlacuGoogle has yet to officially start selling its Nexus 9 in India, but the tablet is now available through Amazon for Rs. 28,900.
The Google Nexus 9 made in collaboration with HTC is an impressive slate by all means, rocking top-notch specs and features all around. The tablet marks the revival of Google's relationship with HTC and comes as the first slate to boast the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop on board out of the box.
Interested customers in India have been waiting for quite some time for the chance to grab the Google Nexus 9 tablet, but the slate is still listed with a "Coming Soon" label on Google Play. Nevertheless, Amazon has now jumped the gun and started selling the tablet at the same price as the Play Store.
More specifically, Amazon is now selling the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model of the Google Nexus 9 for Rs. 28,900.
As a reminder, the Nexus 9 is the first device in the lineup to pack a 64-bit processor, rocking a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor under the hood. The CPU is clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with 192-Kepler graphics and 2GB of RAM for a top-notch performance.
The tablet sports an 8.9-inch QXGA IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a high resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, at a 4:3 ratio. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front shooter, a large 6,700 mAh battery, and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage capacity, with no microSD card slot for additional memory. Connectivity options consist of Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and optional LTE.
As previously mentioned, the Nexus 9 is the first tablet to rock Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, as it served as one of the launch vehicles for the latest OS. Being made in collaboration with HTC, the slate also comes with a number of goodies such as HTC's iconic BoomSound dual front speakers.
It remains unclear just when exactly the Nexus 9 will actually go on sale via Google Play in India, but interested customers can now grab the device from Amazon.
