HTC Hima spotted in AnTuTu benchmark, key specs listed – Is this the One M9?
Alexandra BurlacuThe much-touted HTC Hima, rumored to launch as the One M9 flagship for 2015, has just surfaced in a new AnTuTu benchmark listing.
Rumors about an upcoming HTC smartphone codenamed Hima have been making rounds for quite some time, and many believe that this handset will eventually launch as the HTC One M9.
Several rumors and reports so far have tried to paint a picture of what to expect from this purported HTC Hima, and the handset's core specifications now appear in a new AnTuTu benchmark listing as well.
Trusted tipster Upleaks was the one to spot and share the new AnTuTu benchmark, which lists an "HTC6535LVW (hima)" along with some key specifications. According to this listing, the device will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood, paired with Adreno 430 graphics and 3GB of RAM.
Other purported specs of the HTC Hima include a 5-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which makes it questionable whether it will launch as the One M9. Considering that some high-end smartphones already ventured into QHD territory and even more are expected to join the race next year, it would make more sense for the HTC One M9 to launch with a QHD display instead of a full HD panel. On the other hand, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor is for top-notch flagships, not for your usual garden variety smartphones.
The AnTuTu benchmark in question further details that the HTC Hima would come with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front shooter, with no UltraPixel technology in sight. Previous rumors have also suggested that HTC would ditch its UltraPixel tech for its One M9, and this benchmark listing could confirm it (that is, if the HTC Hima and the One M9 are the same device).
In terms of software, the smartphone will apparently come with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop on board out of the box. The listing makes no mention of HTC's own software, but the HTC Hima could come with Sense 7.0 on top of Android.
With nothing officially confirmed at this point, however, it's best to take this leak with a grain of salt.
