LG Watch Urbane official trailer teases luxurious Android Wear smartwatch (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuLG recently announced a sleek and impressive Android Wear smartwatch called the LG Watch Urbane, and now the company has released a neat promo video for the gadget.
The new LG Watch Urbane is a stylish all-metal Android Wear smartwatch built with luxury and aesthetics in mind, and will make its official debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 next week.
Built on the design of the popular LG G Watch R smartwatch, the new LG Watch Urbane retains the 1.3-inch fully circular P-OLED display, but rocks a thinner bezel for a sleeker look. The new smartwatch also features a premium stainless steel body in polished silver or gold finish, as well as a natural leather strap.
"As its name suggests, the smartwatch is designed for a sophisticated and cosmopolitan wearer that delivers unparalleled technology and performance. LG Watch Urbane is the perfect device for wearers looking to add both style and high-tech flare to their everyday lives," the company explained in a press release last week, when announcing the new smartwatch.
"Resembling a luxury timepiece, LG combined a classic design and innovative features to add style and convenience to everyday life while raising the already high standards set by its predecessor," added the company.
In terms of specifications, the new LG Watch Urbane comes with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage capacity, a 410 mAh battery, and dust and water resistance with IP67 certification. The smartwatch further packs a PPG sensor to measure the wearer's heart rate and pulse during exercise. When it comes to software, the LG Watch Urbane runs Google's Android Wear operating system for wearable devices, and will work with smartphones running Android 4.3 and later.
While the LG G Watch R was designed to be more casual, suitable for active users, the new LG Watch Urbane is more sophisticated and aims to add a touch of luxury and style. According to the company, the G Watch Urbane is suitable for both men and women and can serve as the perfect accessory.
As previously mentioned, the sleek LG Watch Urbane will be present at the MWC 2015 trade show next week, where the company should offer more details. In the meantime, however, check out the promotional video below to get a better glimpse of the smartwatch.
