Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge U.S. pre-orders set for March 27 at Best Buy?
Alexandra BurlacuThe Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge could go up for pre-order in the U.S. this Friday, March 27, at Best Buy.
Samsung officially unveiled its latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge powerhouses early this month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, but the smartphones have yet to hit retail in the U.S.
At the same time, all four major U.S. carriers - AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile - have announced plans to offer the handsets, but none of them kicked off pre-orders so far.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be one of the hottest devices of this year, while the curved-display Galaxy S6 Edge offers an intriguing take on smartphone functionality.
If a new leak turns out to be accurate, Best Buy may get the party started later this week, accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge starting on March 27. The news surfaced on Reddit, but has not been confirmed.
"I was in Best Buy today and a guy at the Samsung desk told me he had been to a Samsung event the previous weekend where he spent some time with the new devices. He said both would be in the store on 3/27, that they'd be taking pre-orders for 4/10 launch on AT&T, Verizon & Sprint at that time starting 3/27. Also, pre-orders would come with 'a free device,'" a Reddit user revealed.
This means that Best Buy should start taking pre-orders for the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on March 27, ahead of the official retail release on April 10.
As previously mentioned, however, this news has not been confirmed yet. Neither Samsung nor Best Buy have announced any details in this regards, which means that it all remains in the rumor state until an official announcement.
If this leak turns out to be accurate and Best Buy indeed plans to start taking pre-orders for the latest Samsung smartphones on Friday, March 27, more information should become available shortly. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more details surface, but take everything with a grain of salt in the meantime.
