Panasonic is once again trying to make news for themselves, this time by launching another smartphone in India that will hopefully compete well in the tech market. The latest device is named as the Panasonic Eluga Mark and it is said to target enterprise consumers.

The Eluga Mark comes with a 5.5 inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company's FitHome IU on top. The smartphone runs on a 1.5 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. It also comes with a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Panasonic's latest smartphone sports a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP front shooter. It is backed by a 2,500 mAh battery and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, microUSB 2.0 and 4G LTE in terms of connectivity options. Eluga Mark notably has sensors including the proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope.

This device offers supports for enterprise mobility management or EMM platform Android for Work which has an enhanced IT security and BYOD compatibility for private devices to operate on secure corporate networks.

Eluga Mark is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor which has the ability to record up to eight different fingerprints at a single point in time and also provide the users with a single touch access. Panasonic India also announced that their Eluga Mark has notable features that support the 4G LTE connectivity with India specific bands support.

And like the recent smartphones with the Android for Work, it separates the business apps from the consumer's personal ones and helps the user to safeguard their personal data by setting up a dedicated work profile for their communications.

Panasonic India's Business Head of Mobility Division Pankaj Rana said that with the growing use of smartphones for high risk activities, mobile security is their top priority for their consumers. He also said that this is a control sensitive smartphone which achieves complex tasks with just a press or a swipe of a finger and is personalized for the user and protects their smartphone investment.

The smartphone was launched last week Thursday, Dec. 3 in India. It is currently priced at 11,990 INR. It comes in two color variants which are Royal Gold and Metallic Gray. It can be purchased online or on retail stores throughout the country.

Panasonic also mentioned that they have launched a total of 16 devices into the country this 2015 and they intend to launch a few more before it ends. They also announced that they will be focusing on "Make in India" by 2016.
