Xiaomi Co-founder Confirms the Existence of Mi Smartwatch
Staff ReporterA few days before Xiaomi released a new smartwatch for kids, called Mi Bunny smartwatch, the company officially confirmed it will launch the long-rumored wearable device --Mi Smartwatch, or Mi Watch. It is a good news for Mi fans who desire Xiaomi's gadgets.
Liu De, the co-founder and Vice President of Xiaomi revealed that Mi smartwatch is almost ready, and will be launched in this 2nd quarter, which means sometime after May. It is the first time Xiaomi officially acknowledges the existence of the Mi smartwatch.
Liu declined to disclose details of the smartwatch.
Android Community suggested, the Mi Smartwatch "should be more affordable compared to the popular wearables in the market today. "
According to previous rumors, Mi smartwatch will sport S410 processor, 4GB RAM and 1.3-inch display. The price of the wearable device is about 600 Yuan($92).
Rumors also suggested the watch will run Xiaomi proprietary OS, rather than Android Wear, because the company generally doesn't install the Google Play Store on its devices.

We expect to see Xiaomi Max, Mi Band 2 and MIUI 8 OS at the May 10 event, but we still do not have any clues whether Mi Smartwatch will be unleashed on that day.
