Avid FPS players are counting the hours before the big announcement of Battlefield 5. So, to add more excitement to the countdown, here are the updates that fans have been waiting for.

Electronic Arts shared a glimpse of what to expect in the newest 9-second video clip, reports Gamespot. According to the website, the preview shows a "face of a soldier as it's overtaken by a shadow. He stares up at whatever is casting it, but it's difficult to glean much," as we quote.

What does that mean? That question must be answered once the unveiling commence on May 6 at 1PM EST. So far, the website notes that EA swears to give a "first look at the future of Battlefield."

As for its game setting, WCCFTech claimed that a hearsay from a Swiss retailer revealed that it will be on World War I. The rumor mill allegedly started when EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen's statement that the next version will return to its roots.

On the other hand, Forbes also reported that the tagline "Battlefield 5" is still unofficial and has been used for the name speculations only. But they have noted that the upcoming new version will have a subtitle name instead of numbers.

So far, fans are already enjoying the free download of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline as part of the promotion, reports Eurogamer. They will likely extend this giveaway after May 10 should the unveiling will be successful.

More than enough, Polygon also revealed the good news that Battlefield loyal players could unlock the Gold Battlepack if they will be able to reach the aim of 2.5 million melee kills for all Battlefield 4 multiplayer modes.

This could be the beginning of a brighter future for the First Person Shooter game so keep those fingers crossed.
