Google Nexus 7 Release Date Set For May 20, 2016? Device To Be Released With 7-inch And 5-inch Models
Dheeraj RThe latest news on the upcoming smartphone, Google Nexus 7, suggests that there are high chances that the device will be released at the ongoing Google I/O Developer Conference 2016. Earlier, there were reports that the much-awaited smartphone was going to be announced on the first day of the conference. But, now as the conference did not witness any update yesterday, new speculations suggests that it will be unveiled on the last day of the conference i.e. May 20, 2016.
Ecumenical News reported that the technology giant will most likely unveil the Google Nexus at the event and set its release date for the month of September, 2016. Further, it is also expected that the two Chinese smartphone manufacturer companies, Asus, and Huawei, are rumored to handle production of the new Nexus phone. According to few reports, Asus has the high chances of winning the bid as it had previously released the company's first and second-generation Nexus series phones.
With all the release date speculations trending all over the internet, the latest news reports have revealed details about the expected specs of the upcoming device. The Christian Times reported that the Google Nexus 7 will be launched in two variants i.e. the 7-inch and 5-inch models. These two variants are expected to have almost similar features except for few specs like price, etc.
Besides, PC Advisor reported that both the variants of the much-awaited device will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor. The latest smartphone from Google is also expected to sport 4GB RAM with the internal storage capacity expandable up to 2 TB via a micro SD card.
In addition to all the latest news about the Google Nexus 7, there are reports that the technology giant will also unveil its new operating system, Android N, today, which is the second day of the event. The new Android N OS is expected to support 7in Quad-HD pressure-sensitive displays like 3D Touch, Force Touch and Unicode 9.
Also, the speculations suggest that the new operating system will feature a brand-new Vulcan API and various launcher shortcuts. Besides, when coupled with the new Google Nexus 7 device, the operating system is expected to add more features for amazing user experience.
The Google Nexus 7 price range is expected to be between $229 and $269.
