E3 2016 Update: Ark: Survival Evolved and Ark: Survival of the Fittest
Jazz RosinStudio Wildcard revealed its E3 plans, along with other updates during a Twitch livestream on Friday night, hosted by lead level designer Damien Bull and Primitive+ creator Ced.
The games developer announced that it will be showcasing both Ark: Survival Evolved and Ark: Survival of the Fittest at this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo, or E3. A new trailer of Survival Evolved will be released, featuring the updates included in the next patch update for the PC. The developers will also introduce the multiplayer online survival arena (MOSA) Ark: Survival of the Fittest, a spinoff of Ark: Survival Evolved.
The next patch, Patch 242, which has been pushed back to after E3, features various changes such as the Redwood Forest expansion on the Snow biome, which was reported by Mobile & Apps last week.
Lead developer Jeremy Stieglitz announced on Twitter that the game will introduce an "offline raiding prevention" system on dedicated PVP servers. This would make dinosaurs and structures invincible when the owner is not online. The developers are also adding offline raid notifications via alarm traps and Survive The Ark accounts (via email and/or forums), and can also be setup to be received via SMS. "Hello, well-protected base!" Stieglitz said on a reply to another Twitter user.

The delay will also give the developers more time to do tweaks on the updates and at the same time give the Survivors who are within the biome change area enough time to move. As previously reported, 3D markers will be added to let the players know which areas will be changed, and where the new biomes will be added to the map.
Bull said that the Redwood Trees cannot be harvested due to their size, but Stieglitz hinted at the possibility of being able to build treehouses in the future.
Ark Creator Ben Burkhart reveals that he plans on making additional changes for The Center, which may include new Crystal caverns and a huge ruins system.
The complete patch notes for 242 is available on the Survive The Ark forums.
