Teenagers demand for a mobile phone and there is nothing wrong in that. Obviously, when they enter adolescents, they look for ways to expand their social circle, make new friends, get acquainted with the rising trends and nonetheless have their own private space. But is that something you can allow them? Even if you think that your teenager can handle the device, you must remember that having a mobile phone is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly and it is difficult to teach teens the basic rules that exist and the responsibilities involved.
For this reason the idea of creating a contract between you parents and your preteen (adolescent) child is an excellent idea to teach your child about the responsibilities that come with the phone. You can give them opportunity to ask questions freely and make them understand what are the rules of cell phone use and the consequences of breaching it.
When writing the contract, clearly explain the responsibilities of your teenager with mobile phone. Here are just a few examples of clauses that can put in the contract for use of the mobile phone in your teen. --Do not spend more than established monthly minutes. If passed the limit will have to pay an additional charge or lose privileges with the phone.
--Keep your phone in good condition.
--Failure to comply with domestic or academic tasks the phone may be requisitioned until it meets again agreed.
In addition to the contract, you may need a parental control program to keep an eye on them and see whether they are following the set rules or not.
