'Pokémon GO': How To Catch Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan

How To Catch Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan in 'Pokémon GO'

C. de Lacy

Here's a guide for trainers who'd like to catch the sheer brute force of both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.

While the appearance of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan is quite random on non-specific places, trainers can mainly find this Figthing Typoe Pokémon in places like stadiums, gyms and sporting centers.

Here's a few breakdown for Hitmonlee to see if it would be worth the hike. Otherwise, trainers can just simply find it any way possible if they just want one for themselves.

It has a base stamina of 100, attack of 148, defense of 172, CP Gain of 19.6 and max CP up to 1492. According to PokémonGodB rankings, Hitmonlee has an overall stat ranking of #79 among the rest of the original first generation.

Its strongest move is the Stone Edge. It is a rock-type attack with a power of 80 and has a cooldown of 3.1 seconds. It could be effectively used with Rock Smash, which is a non-elemental attack, but with a decent cooldown rate of 1.41 seconds.

Hitmonlee is strong against Normal-type Pokémon but weak against Flying, Psychic and Fairy types.

Aside from stadiums and gyms, Hitmonlee can also be acquired through 10km eggs. Some even acquire Hitmonlee through 5km and find it at the oddest places so they're quite common to come by.

The same goes for Hitmonchan, which is just slightly better in terms of overall stats.

Hitmonchan has a thunder-elemental attack called Thunder Punch, which is slightly faster than Hitmonlee's Stone Edge, but has half the power.

Just like Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan is also strong against Normal types but is weaker against Fairy, Flying, Ghost, Poison and Psychic types.

Most sites and even with trainers and Reddit members claim that both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee can be found at places related to exercise so this is at least a good starting point in trying to nab you a pun-intended Hollywood martial artists in pocket monster formats.
