Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Release Date News: New Tablet Missing At IFA 2016 As Tech Giant Focuses On Smartwatch Gear S3
Michelle GuanzonSamsung was expected to unveil a new Galaxy Tab S series at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) Berlin. However, it's already the third day of 5-day event and the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is still nowhere to be found.
A report claimed that in a post on Samsung's Colombian website, the South Korean company confirmed that the release of Galaxy Tab S2's successor will coincide with the launch of their new smartphone, Galaxy Note 7 on IFA 2016.
The said post was then taken down in order for Samsung to make the official announcement.
Mobile users and some tech analysts expects the new tablet will feature impressive high-end specs that will come in with two variants- an 8-inch model and 9.7-inch model.
Furthermore, reports claim that the device will sport a Super AMOLED display with 2048p resolution with Snapdragon 652 processor and will come with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage which was speculated to be further expanded to 128 GB via microSD slot.
The new Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to be thinner compared to its predecessors. Reports claim that it will come with new apps like Android Play, Now on Tap, Google Browser and the new improved Doze.
Despite earlier reports, Samsung did not officially announce or launch the rumored Galaxy Tab S3 at IFA 2016. Instead, the press conference focused on home tech such as audio, TVs, appliances and the Samsung Gear S3.
Samsung has unveiled its Gear S3 smartwatch which comes in two versions: Classic and the Frontier. These two new watches join the older Gear S2.
Both the Classic and Frontier are circular smartwatches with 1.3 inch or 360x360,278ppi Gorilla Glass SR+- protected AMOLED displays, has 22mm straps and has the rotating bezel.
Some features include Wifi, NFC, Altimeter, Barometer, Speedometer, and Built-in GPS. It also comes with a built-in LTE connection for streaming video, music and voice calls.
