'Mass Effect: Andromeda': Game To Run At 30 FPS On PS4, PS4 Pro; Big Reveal On N7 Day In November
Jazz RosinBioware has finally revealed the first proper gameplay footage of the highly anticipated sci-fi title "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
The trailer was launched at the PlayStation Meeting, and was showcased on Sony's latest PS console, the Playstation 4 Pro, showing off Electronic Arts' Frostbite engine in full 4K glory.
The male version of the main protagonist, Ryder, makes his first appearance in a trailer. Check it out below.
"Our game is going to look fantastic on whatever platform you choose to play on," Bioware's General Manager Aaryn Flynn said during the video, "but this video is meant to be experienced in 4K."
"4K allows the game to take on new levels of depth, making 'Mass Effect' more immersive than ever now," he went on.
Flynn also explained that the footage shown during the event was captured from the PS4 Pro during its pre-alpha build.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" producer Fabrice Condominas also confirmed during an interview with Gamespot that the game will run at 30 FPS on both the original PS4 and the new Pro console, despite the Pro being more powerful than its sister model.
The gameplay trailer has left a lot of "Mass Effect" fans wanting for more. Bioware promised more "Mass Effect: Andromeda" related reveals during this year's N7 day, which happens every 7th of November.
During this year's Gamescom, Electronic Arts' Patrick Soderlund said that once the publisher has launched its other equally huge titles "Battlefield 1" and "Titanfall 2," the focus will then be shifting to "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
"It's strictly that the game will get the right type of exposure at the right time and that we can the right voice for it," Soderlund told Game Informer. "Right now we're focused on our big titles."
"And when that's done, we'll shift to 'Mass Effect'," he added. "You'll see a lot more very shortly."
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" was supposed to be released this year, but has been pushed back to Q1 2017. There were also rumors that the game may be pushed even later for its Xbox Scorpio port.
