MacBook Air 2016 Release Still A Blur; Apple Laptop To Return With Skylake Processor, USB-C Port, Retina Display?
AnishAsokanThe MacBook Air 2016 has become one of the popular topics within the last few months. With only a minor update last year, the new MacBook Air is expected to arrive sometime in the fall.
There are rumors as suggested in MacWorld that the new Air laptop may take a hiatus or its entire line might be completely phased out. It does not make any sense to remove a product which has been successful in the market, but with the long due of updates and no recent announcements, many are speculating that Apple is more inclined to push for the Pro line.
Still, there are many talks about the Air's possible features.
The MacBook Air 2016 is expected to come with some radical changes. A slimmer and more compact design that the earlier version had is definitely on the cards. It is much possible that a new 15-inch version would replace and retire the 11-inch MacBook Air.
One feature which is certain to be featured in next generation MacBook Air is Siri. The virtual personal assistant can be well assumed to arrive in the new range of Apple products, including the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
Another speculation for the Air 2016 is the move to Skylake processors. According to Tech Radar, Skylake processors can power the MacBook Air faster in both graphics and performance and can last longer than Broadwell processors.
With all major manufacturers like HP, Asus working on laptops having the new USB-C interface standard, Apple might also add them to next MacBook Air. There are rumors on retina display making it to the new MacBook, and some stating that it would not be possible with the price slash and other design changes in the product.
After Apple's September 7 event, the picture of a MacBook Air release in 2016 remains blurry. Staying on a positive note, Air fans are hoping that it would be out in 2017 by the latest.
