Steve Wozniak seems to be a fan of Windows Phone OS. Expressing his feelings to A New Domain's Web site, the Apple co-founder didn't hesitate in ditching iPhone for Windows Phone in terms of user interface. He is so fond of WP7 that jokingly he said that Steve Jobs must have reincarnated Microsoft in its design.
Steve Wozniak was interviewed by Dan Patterson and Gina Smith - editorial director of A New Domain and co-author of Wozniak's biography. Wozniak is a gadget freak and in his daily routine, he uses up to 10 different smartphones. Also, at the time of interview, he had a pair of iPhone 4S, Nokia Lumia 900 and Motorola Droid RAZR with him.
When he was asked to compare Windows Phone with Android and iPhone, he landed up praising Windows Phone for its user interface.
"I'm kind of shocked. Every screen is much more beautiful than the same app on Android and iPhone," said Steve Wozniak. "The iPhone has a lot of beauty and simplicity, but it is more awkward to user (as compared to Windows Phone)."
Apple co-founder is impressed by WP7. But overall, he still recommends iPhone. "I also surmised that Steve Jobs might have been reincarnated at Microsoft due to a lot of what I see and feel with this phone making me think a lot of great Apple things," he added.
Wozniak's saying was all in fun, but it has kicked off a fierce debate on the blogosphere. Some people are concluding that Windows Phones are better than any other phone in the world, while others say that Wozniak's statement was just to show a thumbs-down to the Android guys.
As per our thinking, it is an individual opinion of a technology lover - no matter even if he is a co-founder of Apple. But, Wozniak's opinion is good news for the struggling mobile operating system.
