'Tom Clancy's The Division' 1.4 Patch Update: Was It Enough To Bring Players Back?
C. de LacyAfter many fans and players have concluded "The Division" to be dead, in terms of both the community and the game itself, the wait for the 1.4 Patch has never been bigger. Now that it's almost here, will the update live up to the expectations or is it just another failed attempt at reconciliation?
As we've previously posted, Ubisoft is well aware of what have happened, and hopefully, they are for the sake of the game's longevity. The public test servers have now been active and this was a good start for fixing the hiccups that the game suffered from.
Online news site Inquisitr reported that a number of tentative patch notes are now available for the upcoming update for "The Division." The update is still going to be released this October and will be on time, contrary to some who expect it to be late or worse, not happening at all.
Here are some tentative notes:
Player grenade damage now scales with the current World Tier to ensure consistent efficiency against - NPCs across World Tiers.
Shotgunner NPCs: their damage falloff and accuracy have been slightly reduced. This should limit their range and lower their lethality in long to mid-range combat.
World Tier & Dark Zone bracket: If the player has enough Gear Score to unlock a new World Tier but is still below the matching Dark Zone bracket requirement, he will still be able to join the higher
Dark - - Zone bracket by selecting the higher World Tier. For example, a player with Gear Score 158 can go to - World Tier 2, but would be forced into Dark Zone bracket 1 due to his GS being bellow 163, which can be very confusing. Now, if he selects World Tier 2, he will be put in Dark Zone bracket 2. If he selected World Tier 1, he will be put in Dark Zone bracket 1 until his Gear Score reaches the next Dark - Zone bracket minimum requirement. This only applies when the Gear Score is right in the middle of two World Tiers (158 to 163, 177 to 182, 199 to 204)
Underground checkpoints have been removed from the game until a better implementation can be developed (post 1.4).
Several improvements to NPC AI.
Player health will now progressively regenerate to full when out of combat.
These are just some of the many upcoming changes. For a complete and updated list, players can head over this post from a Ubisoft Community Representative.
From the looks of it, tons of changes and updates will change the game. Hopefully, this makes "The Division" take a different direction for the better.
