Now that the game has been released, players are enjoying their first glimpses of the new Pokémon species from the latest game in the franchise. Besides the new species, "Pokémon Sun and Moon" features the new Alolan version of some of the previous generation Pokémon. The game also introduces a new feature called Z-moves which greatly increases the advantage of the chosen Pokémon.

With all these new features in mind, being a new "Pokémon" can be mind boggling. Thankfully, IGN has a guide for what things to do first with "Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Avoid buying status healing items

As with other RPGs, starting out on an adventure means you'll also be starting from scratch. Buying those status healing items is not recommended at the start since, as IGN points out, you can use the "Pokémon Refresh" feature as alternative.

If you're the type to stock some in case of emergencies, those Poké balls you pick up lying on the ground often times have Antidotes or Awakenings included in them. This way you'll be able to build up your money and use them for more important necessities, such as Potions and / or Poké balls.

Buy a drink at the Pokemon Center Cafe

The Cafe inside the Hau'oli Outskirts Pokemon Center isn't just another decorative NPC shop. You can buy a drink there and receive a free healing item as a bonus. Do note that you can only do this once a day.

Buy 10 Poké balls

Who says buying in bulk doesn't matter in games? Same as how your parents choose to buy bulk orders from the grocery, you should also consider buying Poké balls in 10s. Doing so will get you a free Premier ball, which is not that special since it only has the same rate as the Poké ball but what gives? As IGN said, you'll get more bang for your buck this way.

Battle everyone you see

No exception, in order to gain lots of money you have to battle every trainer you see. This will be a bit of a grind, but as with the other games, this can be rewarding as well for you.

Talk to everyone you see

Pretty tedious too, but doing so will be just as rewarding. Some of them will give you easy to do side quest (as in really easy) that will earn you more money and sometimes those hard-to-find items.

Use Pokémon Refresh

Pokémon Refresh is not just a feature to remove status effects on your Pokémon. You can also give them Poké beans and groom them to raise their affection towards you, making them give their utmost in battle for you.

Use a walkthrough

Finally (and fortunately), you can also use IGN's walkthrough to find anything you need help for in "Pokémon  Sun and Moon."
