More information about the upcoming action-RPG "Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Millenium Twilight" were announced.

Game publisher Bandai Namco revealed the first gameplay footage for the crossover game during a recent Dengeki live stream, according to Crunchyroll. The game will both feature characters from their respective series and would feature battles with and against each other. Players will also be able to create their dream parties made up of "Sword Art Online" and "Accel World" characters.

The action-RPG game would feature over 30 playable characters, including a few characters that may be difficult to include in the main story. Other characters may also be included in the form of DLCs, and costumes from the upcoming "Sword Art Online" movie will be given as a pre-order bonus.

It is reported that the main story would last about 30 hours, and would feature improved action elements - with similarities from the franchise's earlier game "Sword Art Online: Lost Song". The character models are also said to have been remade to appear better.

Some of the characters revealed so far are the following:

  • Kirito (V.A.: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
  • Black Lotus (V.A.: Sachika Misawa)
  • Asuna (V.A.: Haruka Tomatsu)
  • Silver Crow (V.A.: Yuki Kaji)
  • Lisbeth (V.A.: Ayahi Takagaki)
  • Lime Bell (V.A.: Aki Toyosaki)
  • Silica (V.A.: Rina Hidaka)
  • Scarlet Rain (V.A.: Rina Hidaka)

A limited-edition release is also announced, which packs the game in a box illustrated by HIMA and abec, and includes the soundtrack CD, a Blu-Ray disc with included extra content, Dengeki Nerve Gear VS book, mini-clear poster, acrylic character keychain, a specially-made CD and Blu-Ray case, and download codes for the DLCs.

"Accel World vs. Sword Art Online" will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on March 16, 2017. As of the moment, there are no announcements of the game hitting the Western shores, but is expected to do so, considering the franchise's global success.
