Microsoft continues to expand its library of backwards compatible games on the Xbox One with five more titles added so far for the month of December.

The latest title to be included in the list is 2007 Xbox 360 and Windows PC video game "Shadowrun." The first person shooter, not to be confused with the 1989 sci-fi tabletop role playing game of the same name, was made available to Xbox Live Arcade two years after its release.

"Shadowrun" has also become the second game to support cross platform between Windows and Xbox 360, allowing players from different platforms to play together, the first title being "Final Fantasy XI" in 2006.

Two arcade games were also added to the list recently: shogi AI - turned - video game"Shotest Shogi" and 2010 retro style puzzle video game "Space Ark." "Space Ark" is also available on Steam.

Earlier this month, publisher Warner Games, Inc. and "Mortal Kombat" developer NetherRealm Studios' "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list.

The fighting game based on the DC Comics universe was first released for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii U in April 2013. An expanded version of the game called "Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition," which included all downloadable content, was released later that year.

"Injustice: Gods Among Us" received positive reviews from critics, with IGN calling the game "a very good brawler and a big old sloppy love letter to fans," and praised the game for its improved, unique mechanics and strong storyline.

Both editions are backwards compatible on Xbox One now, although the Ultimate Edition is disc only.

Microsoft also added the sequel to old school Atari 2600 video game "Haunted House" to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list. Released by Atari under the same name, the 1982 video game was revamped in 2010 and was launched on Windows, Nintendo Wii and Xbox Live Arcade. The sequel takes place 30 years after the original title.
