Samsung Galaxy S8 UK Release Date Unveiled; Production Delayed To Make It More Sturdy
Portia Mae M. CansancioThe Samsung Galaxy S8 --- with its advance hardware, super HD resolution display, and other high-end functionalities --- could be considered as one of the most anticipated Android devices in 2017. But for those who are waiting for it to be released early next year, you may want to wait a little bit more than previously anticipated.
According to reports, Samsung could break the tradition by revealing their latest flagship on a separate event this April 2017 in New York City. This means that Samsung would miss its usual reveal date at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February 2017.
The reported postponement was because of Samsung's need to make extra-stringent tests following the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The company is making sure to avoid the same mistakes it has committed with the Note 7, whcich slowly made Samsung lost its credibility. Reports also claimed that it was due to lack of testing as the company rushed their release to compete with Apple's newly released iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is projected to release in two models, a 5.1-inch dual-curved display and a 5.5-inch. The company is also adding a pressure-sensitive feature, which is much like the 3D Touch function the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have and debuted last year. Rumors also said that Samsung will remove the 3.5mm headphone jack and develop its own port as replacement.
Samsung reassured customers, who made a trade with their Galaxy Note 7 for either an S7 or an S7 Edge, that they can trade up to a Galaxy S8 or Note 8 next year with an upgrade program. For those who will take Samsung's offer, they only have to pay half of the Galaxy S7's price rather than the full price before switching to the Galaxy S8 or the Note 8 when the devices are finally launched.
