BeatsX & Beats EP Design Still Available From Apple
JulianneApple AirPods has just been released this month and consumers are delighted using the new Apple product. There are reports stating that Apple dropped the Beats design from their line of wireless headphones however, but that is just what the Cupertino-based tech giant wants its consumers to think.
Before Apple acquired Beats in May 2014, Ammunition and founder Robert Brunner was the chief designer for Beats by Dr. Dre at that time. After the news broke out that Apple will take the acquisition plans of Beats, Brunner confirmed that he and Ammunition will be stepping down from designing Beats products, 9to5Mac reported.
However, the publication further reports that the acquisition never happened as Brunner and Ammunition are still working for a new Beats design. In fact, Apple announced that Ammunition is still listed on the Cupertino-based company's contributors to Apple's now-delayed BeatsX wireless Bluetooth headphones. Apple also listed the upcoming Beats EP Bluetooth headphones as one of the recent projects Ammunition is designing at the moment.
The now-delayed BeatsX by Ammunition will be one of the three pairs of Beats wireless headphones to have the new Apple W1 chip. The Apple W1 chip, which is used in the Cupertino-based company's new cord-free AirPods, will improve the BeatsX pairing and connectivity as wireless headphones. These were also released by Apple, but its launch had a lesser fanfare.
Meanwhile, Robert Brunner and Ammunition has been involved in the design of Beats products since 2007. Brunner was also a former director of industrial design at Apple from 1989 to 1996, before creating Ammunition in the latter year.
The Apple AirPods that were launched this month by the Cupertino-based giant was the reason BeatsX is delayed. But if consumers still want to purchase the said wireless headphones, buyers will have to wait until February to avail a pair.
